Once Upon a Ghost is now available.
Of all the ONCE anthologies, this one is my favorite overall. It contains gorgeously crafted fairy tale retellings that are dark, romantic, and eerie. My contribution, The Ghost Queen, is an “Emperor’s New Clothes” retelling. Trying out new paranormal personalities is always a fun thrill. In The Ghost Queen, I brought in a couple of young necromancers (including one with an ironic fear of ghosts) and some vengeful spirits. There’s even a moral to the story, which is something I love about a lot of fairy tales.
